FLUSAR 40-hour rope rescue course is an intensive, hands-on training program designed to equip firefighters with the skills and knowledge needed to safely perform rescue operations in high-angle situations using rope systems, meeting or exceeding NFPA standards, specifically focusing on patient packaging, raising and lowering techniques, belay operations, and proper equipment usage, all within the framework of the Florida Urban Search and Rescue (FLUSAR) program; typically requiring participants to complete both classroom lectures and practical field exercises to achieve certification as a Rope Rescue Operations Level technician.
