The 5 W's of Site Selection: Shelters should be located near source of WOOD and WATER. Avoid areas with WIDOW MAKERS (potentially hazardous trees), WIND, and WIGGLERS (snakes and other insects)
Secure your tarp to the anchor points using rope or paracord. Angle it slightly downward for drainage, and weigh down the edges with rocks or stakes.
